Judging by the official data on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, it can be said that the impact of the vaccines has hardly been felt, since the data corresponding to July 27, 2020 are better than those corresponding to one year later (July 27, 2021). And although it should be borne in mind that Spain is one of the countries in the world with the highest number of vaccinated people, in 2021 the number of cases and the cumulative incidence at 14 days is 15 times higher than in 2020 on the same date without vaccines; the number of cases and the cumulative incidence at 7 days is 12 times higher than in 2020 on the same date without vaccines; the number of hospitalizations in the last 7 days for COVID-19 is 26 times higher than in 2020 on the same date without vaccines; the number of deaths in the last 7 days is 23 times higher than in 2020 on the same date without vaccines. And although it is clear that association is not causation, it cannot be ignored that this comparison is used given the insistence of political and many health authorities on the “impact” of vaccines on the evolution of the situation.
