This is by far the strangest rock you will ever find. You can find it in the Al Nafud desert of Saudi Arabia and, as you can see, this rather massive stone appears to have been cut in half.
The strange thing about it is the fact that the cut itself is extremely straight and, if that wasn’t enough, the rocks themselves seem to defy gravity as they have apparently been sitting upright for a long time.
No one knows what caused the cut to begin with, and as more and more theories emerge, it seems that less and less is known about this structure to begin with.
Many believed at first that it was just a random case of corrosion that took some time until it finally broke the rock in half from where it started cracking in the past.
But, since the cut itself is perpendicular if it had been cut instantly by corrosion, it would have fallen off by now, which was not the case here.
The petroglyphs on the side also suggest that the rock dates back to at least the first couple of centuries BC.
A laser seems the most likely culprit, but why use a laser if it won’t cut perfectly in the middle?
No one knows for sure what could have caused this; however, what we do know is that this strange discovery is definitely worth a visit if you have the time to do so.
