One of Wagner’s battalions is commanded by a US army general

One of the battalions of the Wagner security company fighting in the Ukrainian war is commanded by a US citizen, the company’s owner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has told the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat (*).

The newspaper’s interest stems from the fact that some two dozen Finnish citizens are fighting in Wagner’s ranks.

The private security company has a “British battalion” headed by a retired US Army general, a former Marine Corps general, whom Prigozhin does not name.

Attached to the battalion are Finnish mercenaries, of whom Prigozhin has a very high opinion: they are highly ideological, motivated and show their best side as military specialists.

The day before, one of Wagner’s mercenaries told the newspaper that the rainy and inclement weather on the battlefield is playing into the hands of the Russian units and hurting the Ukrainian ones.

It is more difficult for Ukrainian artillery to hit targets in these weather conditions, as shells land in the mud and do not explode. At the same time, drones do not work in the rain.

The FBI has put Prigozhin on the wanted list, with a $250,000 reward for anyone who reports his whereabouts. Well, he’s in Russia; let them go look for him there.
