The Communist Youth participated on July 24 in the demonstration against the health passport in Marseilles and have published a statement in which they qualify the present French Republic as a dictatorship.
“Against the propaganda of the bourgeoisie and its puppets, these demonstrations are not of ‘anti-vaccinationists’ and ‘fascists’, but first of all a popular movement against the continued authoritarian rise of the government, against the destruction of our living conditions under the alibi of the pandemic. And if we could also see the extreme right in these demonstrations, it is also the duty of all the organizations carrying the socialist-communist project to confront it wherever it is. We cannot leave our class in the hands of fascists who divert the authentic popular anger towards an aggravation of the dictatorship of the most reactionary financial monopolies.”
The Marseilles communists also affirm that the struggle against the health passport, against unemployment and for the defense of pensions are part of the same fight for freedom.
The massive demonstration in Marseilles brought together thousands of people, among them yellow vests, trade unionists and workers, especially in the health sector, who risk being fired if they refuse to be vaccinated.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, health care – say the young communists – has been subjected to a lack of means and the dismantling of public hospitals.
Before embarking on any serious debate on health policy, the Young Communists of Marseilles demand the elimination of patents on vaccines, the socialization of monopolies and the elimination of State secrets.
With the health passport, they add, the government and the bourgeoisie want to put on our backs their management, governed by monopoly profits.
“That is why we will participate in the next demonstrations against the health passport and we will carry our class slogans”, concluding the communiqué with their enumeration:
