Israeli anti-aircraft defense is not able to detect Hezbollah missiles

Hezbollah attacked 15 sites in Metulla yesterday with anti-tank missiles and Shlomi Eldar, Israeli correspondent for Channel 13, confesses that the protectiles are a significant threat because Israeli warning systems are unable to detect them.

Israeli media acknowledge that Hezbollah’s missiles, which are aimed beyond Israel’s border, have intensified and are becoming more accurate and more dangerous.

Hezbollah’s attacks on the Metulla colony yesterday are in retaliation for the assassination of the mayor of Taybeh, one of the Lebanese villages that has been shelled by the Israeli army.

The mayor, Hussein Mansour, died at the age of 80 in his home, located a few kilometers from the blue line separating Lebanon from Israel.

Metulla’s deputy security chief said the Israeli army’s clashes with Hezbollah are unprecedented, even during the July 2006 war.

Metulla is a ghost colony, he added. “Residents refuse to return as long as Hezbollah and Radwan’s special forces remain stationed along the border.”

“Although our families have left Metulla, we see Lebanese in the border villages going about their daily lives normally,” he explained.
